KANNAPOLIS, NC (Jan. 13, 2016) – Pro All Stars Series Super Late Model competitor Kodie Conner and Champion Spark Plugs have continued their partnership program for the upcoming racing season. The 15-year old race car driver finished third overall in the “Search for a Champion” contest in 2016 and completed his rookie season in a Super Late Model second in the final PASS South point standings.
Conner has followed in the footsteps of previous generations of family racers. His grandfather Jerry and father Shannon both raced successfully in New Jersey before Kodie’s father moved the family to Kannapolis to pursue a career in the Monster Energy NASCAR Series. Kodie Conner learned at an early age he wanted to be a champion also.
At age 5 he began his career in quarter midgets and collected over 50 wins and 5 championships in just three years. Conner then moved into the INEX Bandolero Bandits series where he amassed over 50 wins in four years and was runner-up in the 2012 national points.
Conner then spent three seasons in a Pro Late Model where he picked up 9 race wins and the 2015 PASS Pro Late Model championship before he made the jump to the Super Late Model last season.
“I am honored to have been selected by the people with Champion to once again represent the company in the upcoming season. We have and continue to use Champion spark plugs in our race engines, and I know they will help us get to victory lane this year,” said Conner about the relationship with Champion.
Conner has represented Team Champion both on and off the track over the past year and that even included his first appearance in the most prestigious race on the PASS schedule, the Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Maine.
This season Conner plans to pursue the PASS South Super Late Model championship once more in his family owned #45. He also has selective races scheduled to compete in the CARS Tour and the inaugural “Battle at Bristol” in May.
“I am excited to get the season underway and head to Dillon Motor Speedway in a few weeks to begin a championship season”
Conner’s first race will be the PASS South Winter Meltdown at Dillon Motor Speedway on February 4th.
