KANNAPOLIS, NC : Kodie Conner’s first full season behind the wheel of a Super Late Model will take him to another challenge this upcoming weekend at the tight and fast Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine. Upon learning the team was ensured a provisional into the main event with his successes in the Pro All Stars Series South competition, Conner and team decided to file their entry form and make the long 14 hour drive from his North Carolina home to Maine for this weekend’s 43rd Annual Hood Oxford 250.
Conner, a 15-year old currently enrolled for his second year in early college at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is the most recent Pro Late Model champion in PASS South. Conner graduated from the Pro Late Model into a full-time Super Late Model for the 2016 season in search of the PASS South championship. Conner has recorded 3 top five’s and 4 top ten finishes and sits second in the season long standings, just 17 behind the leader.
This will be the first race for Conner away from the Southeast in a big car. “I’m really excited about going to Oxford this weekend and competing on a famous track like Oxford Plains,” said Conner about racing up north. “The 250 is the biggest race for PASS and it is special for me and my small team to get the chance to go up there and try our skills against some of the best drivers in the region.”
The Oxford 250 gets underway with practice sessions on both Friday and Saturday before all the racing action takes place on Sunday, August 28th. The field will be set by qualifying heat races, last chance races and provisional spots. The Oxford 250 is set to go green around 5:30 PM on Sunday evening.
